Mr. A. Michael Lipper
Elected 2005
Mike Lipper founded the fund and brokerage analysis firm Lipper Analytical Services in 1973. With five offices, including in London and Hong Kong, he sold the operating assets to Reuters Group PLC in 1998.
During this period, he was involved with numerous industry groups, including the New York Society of Security Analysts as president, the Securities Industry Association as chair of the Institutional Committee, and the board of the New York Stock Exchange as chair of the Specialty Firms Advisory Committee.
Lipper is currently president of the investment advisor Lipper Advisory Services, serving institutions and high-net-worth families. In addition, he is a managing member of LSF Partners, a private financial-services fund. He also writes a weekly blog on investment ideas and authored the book Money Wise, published in 2008.
Currently, he is a senior trustee for Caltech and a trustee for Stevens Institute of Technology. In addition, he is chair of the International Stock Exchange Executives Emeriti and a member of the Columbia University Medical Center Board of Advisors. He is a founder of the U.S. Marine Corps Museum. In the past, he has served on the following boards: New
Jersey Performing Arts Center, Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, Museum of American Finance, and Drew University. He also has served as the chair of the investment committees for Atlantic Health System and New Jersey Performing Arts Center for 15 years.
